Highchair antics

Here's some of the fun we have during meals.

Christmas

Parker had a really good first Christmas. With both sides of the family being in different directions we usually need to split the holiday's up. But that works out for Parker because then he gets TWO Christmas's. And next year, when Santa makes a really good visit, he'll technically get THREE! What a lucky boy. :) This year while he had fun with the presents in their wrapped condition, he's too young to really know what to do. Other then trying to chew on paper or tags on his gifts. And oh man, don't you take away that paper from him. He'll lash out at you! He got a lot of really great gifts. Thank you so much to all!

Though Bear got many awesome things to play with, this seemed to be what he was having the most fun doing :-/

9 months!

Parker is now 9 months old. Pretty soon we'll be planning his first birthday party. Wonder if I'll be getting any sleep by then? :-/

Not much new to report since our last update, except, it looks like he finally has a tooth coming in. Luckily we have his 9 month appointment tomorrow and I'll have the ped take a look inside. Not looking forward to the shots, but I love going to the appointments to see how much Parker has grown since the last visit. I'm guessing he'll be around 19 pounds and 28.5 inches. Let's see how close I am...

Enjoying his moves

Things have been a lot more fun (crazy) since Parker has been on the move. He's very curious and likes to investigate every nook and cranny he finds. He's had a couple falls, but nothing to major so far and he quickly recovers. Now that he's mobile it's making Gymboree a lot more fun. He can finally climb on the obstacles like the other big kids. Here's a video I took yesterday.

One of Parkers favorite things to do is blowing raspberries. He does it ALL day. And during meals, while cute, can be highly annoying... I'm sure I could get a better video then this but it just hasn't worked out. But it's a little taste of what he does all day.

Something new Parker tried this week was cheese. He seemed to like it ok. Not much to the video, but if you wanted to see how it went, go for it :)

Next up for Bear? Experiencing his first Christmas and turning 9 months old tomorrow! Can't wait to see him 'unwrap' his gifts!

Remember that stair obsession I mentioned? Yeah... This probably didn't help...

The last of Bears 8th month

Parker has been busy getting used to his new mobility. He's suffered a few bumps and bruises along the way. But he's getting better and more and more curious about things each day. He still really loves analyzing things that he puts in his mouth. Or if you try to give him something. He'll take it out and look it over before deciding if it's worthy of a good chew. He's obsessed with standing. During his entire bath it's a constant stand sit stand off. Or when I put him down for bed. He immediately stands and peaks over his crib to see everything around him. He's tried a new food this week. A teething biscuit. He wasn't so sure of it at first but seemed to really like it.

Trying the biscuit

Trying the biscuit some more

He really seems to love the light of my flash on my iphone
. He bull dozed his way thru his toys to get to it.

He's becoming obsessed with the stairs, so Daddy really needs to get that gate put up... Daddy...

It's been raining here non stop for a while so the picture taking hasn't really been happening. But we got a few cute ones in the bath the other night.

Bear Talent

For a couple months now I guess Parker has been doing this bizarre thing with his tongue and upper lip after he nurses. I finally got some of it on video today.

Raspbearries

Something new Parker has started enjoying is giving me raspberries on my shoulders and thighs. I've been trying to get it on video, but it's so quick it's too hard. Here is a picture I got this morning though.

Yes I'm looking hot with my 'matching' PJ's....

Oh and, since I uploaded and blogged about his feeding himself with only his left hand... He's only feed himself with his right since. :-/

Bear taps his feet

For months I've been trying to get Parker to walk (with my assistance of course). He's never understood to move his legs. He just stands there solid in his stance. This morning he finally took some steps. We walked a good 15 feet. He was so funny. I don't think he ever bent his legs. He totally looked like ET. Here's a little video I put together later in the day. He didn't do it as well as this morning, but you get the idea... If at all possible, ignore me.

Food

We started feeding Parker solids on 10/01/10. While he's a good eater now, there's been some hard times along the way. For some reason, mostly at dinner, he does this thing with his tongue while he eats. You can see it here. I'm not sure why he's doing it. And it only seems to happen at dinner time.

Over the last couple weeks I introduced him to puffs. He's still getting the hang of feeding himself. We've noticed 99% of the time he uses his left hand to feed himself. Perhaps a sign of what he'll be using? Not much to it, but you can see him eating here.

Busy Bear

It's been a busy week for Parker. He's learned a lot of new milestones. He started really crawling on Wednesday. He's mastered getting into a sitting position all on his own. And he also started pulling up on things and standing. All in the matter of a few days. Which could explain the 3 hour parties he has in his crib in the middle of the night. He's pulling up in the crib and at times gets stuck or sadly takes a nasty crash. Those have been a blast. With his new found freedom he's a lot better about entertaining himself. Though he still pitches a fit if I leave the room. Sometimes I can sneak away while he's playing and he won't notice, but with his new mobility obviously I can't leave far. He's getting really good about throwing his head back in anger. That's been a real joy...

Here are a few videos showing his skills:

Bear plays

We tried out another Santa suit shoot with him over the weekend. He was mostly interested in the dirt and pine needles on the ground. I even got to pull a rock out of his mouth. Here's a couple shots from it.

Parker also suffered his first big booboo this weekend :(

Bear gets around

Not much new to report these days. Parker isn't crawling yet, but he's figured out ways to get around.

This last week we took him out to take pictures for our Christmas card. While we got some good shots, it wasn't what we really wanted but time was running out. Here's a few pics from that day.

And with the big man:

He's gotten really good at pulling himself up over the last few days. Making nap time hard as he gets up on his crib and gets stuck. Poor guy. You should have seen his face yesterday.

Also, it may be time someone got a hair cut. Just a little trim.

Golden Bear?

It's not easy to tell in this shot, but Parkers new hair seems be coming in on the blond side. Will our brown bear go golden?

Excitement

Someone(s) gets really happy when daddy comes home from work.

Everything's a chew toy

Finally broke out Parkers mat yesterday. He really seems to enjoy it.

Intense conversations are had.

Cuteness happens on it.

Then things get a little crazy...
